7:00PM Meeting called to order:
Those in attendance: Scott Rehrauer, Dale Weber, Delores Weber, Willie Ore, Tom Felder, Terri Felder, Johnny Somers, Joe McCargo, Brenda Denson, Kevin Ouzts, Bill Post, Hazel Post, Chip Smith
Motion made by Johnny Somers to accept the minutes of the October 15, 2009 District Meeting as presented. Motion seconded by Kevin Ouzts. Motion carried.
Activities
- Update on 2010 District Banquet from Willie Ore. Tickets are printed. The committee is ready to roll.
Willie is planning a quick district banquet meeting following the district committee meeting.
- District Merit Badge College David Ellington has everything on go. The event will be held on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays in February at Piedmont Community College in Yanceyville. On the next Roundtable agenda, there will be a discussion about what training the adults in attendance would like to see made available.
Advancement
- Person County Merit Badge College November 5 - Roxboro Baptist Church from 7:00 9:00 pm. 12 Scouts attended. 2 nd Session on November 19.
Camping
- 2010 Spring Camporee Willie Ore. Ricky Martin presented and approved as the Spring Camporee Chief. Plans would be to hold the camporee in the Western Rockingham area.
- Cub Camping Committee update Delores It has been decided to have only 4 weeks of Webelos Camp in 2010. There were 36 Cub Packs to sign up on November 7 th . 1st and 2nd weeks are full.
- Looking for a Program Director Council for Webelos.
- Summer Camp fee is $235.00. If paid by April 1, 2010, the fee is $225.00.
Commissioner Service
- 2010 District Roundtable beginning January 2010, Roundtables will be held at Camp Cherokee. Imperative that we have a good turnout from Rockingham County. Bill Post
- Scott Rehrauer is looking for a church, potentially Prospect Hill, to hold the joint Roundtables. A big push is being organized in all 3 counties to boost attendance at a joint roundtable. The 1st program will be held on the 1st Thursday in January 2010. The program will be a discussion of Shooting Sports put on by John Young.
- Christmas Roundtable will be held at Speedwell Presbyterian. Spouses invited. Bring a Warming Tree gift.

Nominating Committee
- Report and Committee vote on 2010 slate of officers.
- Nomination of Willie Ore as District Commissioner confirmed as Johnny Somers made the motion, seconded by Bill Post and approved unanimously by all.

Training
- This is Scouting, New Leader Essentials, Cub Scout Leader Specific, and Youth Protection October 17, 2009 Leaksville United Methodist Church Eden. 5 Cub Scout leaders in attendance.
- Cub Scout Leader specific October 29, 2009 Roxboro Baptist Church 4 participants completed course
- POWWOW November 7th was moved to the Council Office due to GTCC conflict (H1N1 vaccinations were being offered at the same time).
- Council Training meeting held on 11/18/2009. Working on NYLT for 2010. Plan for it to be a week long and held at Camp Cherokee. Council wants some portion of every Roundtable to focus on training (we do that now so this is not something new). There will be specific training for all positions.

Comments from Scott Rehrauer
- Popcorn Cherokee was 1 of 3 Districts in the Council to increase sales of last year. Up $2,000.00.
- 2010 Quality Units Willie and Scott are working on this./li>
- District Renewal if you pay your dues on a District Level, that payment is due now.
- Caswell County Cub Pack they have put back together is in desperate need of Training. Scott looking for a location for a program that could be potentially a County Wide program.
- FOS There was a question about Golden Eagle Banquets. Banquets have not been ruled out but the FOS fundraising method is in to be determined status.
- Online Registration for recharter is required. - There is an on-line tutorial at the Council Website. Another idea discussed was having a focus on on-line recharter at a Roundtable (with computers available).
- It was also noted that Johnny Somers received the Founders Award and that Delores Weber received the Red Feather Award. (Editors Comment both awards were well deserved)
Next Meeting
- Next District Committee meeting will be December 17, 2009 7:00PM - at Rio Grande Restaurant, HWY 14 and Meadow Rd., Eden.
- 8PM With there being no further business to discuss, a motion was made by Terri Felder to adjourn. Bill Post seconded the motion. The motion carried.
